  1. Lay each mat on a clean, dry floor and press it down. The backing holds best on a dry surface.
  2. Put the bath mat at the shower or tub exit, the floor mat at the sink and the U-shaped mat around the toilet base.
  3. Towel off before you step out. The mat is for wet feet, not for a whole shower.
  4. Rinse it with water and hang it to dry. This is the gentlest way to clean it.
  5. For a deeper clean, machine wash on a gentle cycle below 104°F (40°C) and let it air-dry. Washing it in the machine very often can shorten its life.

It is thin, and that is the point. The thickness of a rug is what keeps it wet.

The top is soft under bare feet, but you give up the plush feel. In exchange you get a mat that dries, lies flat and lets the door close. If you want something to sink your feet into, this is not it.

Does it actually dry, or does the water just disappear into it?

The water does spread out across the top, and that is how it dries. Water spread thin over a wide surface dries. Water soaked deep into a thick rug does not.

After several showers in a row it will be damp, like any mat. Hang it over the tub for a while and it is ready again.

Will it slide if the floor is wet?

The backing holds on a dry floor. If any water gets underneath, any mat can slide, and this one is no exception.

Lay it on a dry floor, press it down, and wipe up water that runs under the edge. If someone at home is unsteady on their feet, make that a habit.

Will the backing flake apart in the washer?

Heat and a hard spin are what make a backing flake. Wash it on a gentle cycle below 104°F (40°C) and let it air-dry.

Most of the time you won't need the machine at all. It is thin enough to rinse in the tub and hang up.

Will it yellow my vinyl or LVP floor?

The yellow stains people find under bath rugs come from latex and natural rubber backings. This backing is TPR, a synthetic material made without latex or natural rubber. It is made for tile, vinyl and LVP floors, RV floors included.

If your floor is under warranty, check the maker's care guide, and lift the mats now and then so the floor underneath can dry.
