Wireless LED Table Lamp

Here's the honest version of what happened to your last one. In a normal lamp, the part that wears out is the bulb, and the bulb is meant to be swapped. In a cheap cordless lamp, the part that wears out is the battery cell - and every lithium cell loses capacity with every charge, that's physics, not a defect. The problem is that on most of them the cell is sealed inside and the LED is soldered in place. So when the cell fades, there is nothing left to replace. It didn't break. It expired, and the design decided that in advance. We're not going to tell you our battery is eternal - nobody's is. What we'll tell you is that we back it, and that if it quits on you we replace the lamp instead of pointing you at a returns address on the other side of the world.

For a table, a nightstand, a console or a counter - yes, easily. It lights a two-seat dinner well and a whole medium room softly. Up close it's fine for reading a book or a menu. What it is not is a work lamp for hours of fine print, and we'd rather say so now than have you find out. Three tones and stepless dimming mean you set the level, so the warm tone dimmed low reads as candlelight and the bright white at full reads as a proper work light.

The shade, stem and base are metal, not plastic-that-looks-like-metal. It has real weight in the hand - that's the single thing people mention most when they unbox it, usually with some surprise. The finish is matte, so it doesn't catch light the way glossy plastic does. If you've been burned by the six-dollar versions, this is not that object.

The base is weighted metal and the centre of gravity sits low, so a bumped table or a gust on the patio won't take it down. It isn't bolted to the table - nothing this size is - but it stays where you put it, indoors and out.

It depends entirely on how bright you run it, and anyone giving you one number is rounding in their own favour. At full brightness on the white tone, expect somewhere around six to ten hours of continuous use. On the warm tone dimmed low - which is how most people actually use it - a single charge covers several evenings before it needs the cable again. Charging from empty takes about four hours. The indicator under the shade glows red while charging and green when it's done, so you're never guessing.

IP54 means splash-resistant, not waterproof. Dew, a passing drizzle, a spilled drink: fine. A storm or a downpour: bring it in. We'd rather be straight with you about this than have you leave it out overnight on the strength of a word we stretched.
