HOW IT WORKS

Here, each of the five bars slides forward along its own length. Pull it out with the pants still on it, and that pair comes clear while the other four never move. Take your pants, push the bar back.

Two hooks come in the box, and you choose how many to use. Use both hooks to hang it horizontally. Use one hook to hang it vertically — that's the setup for a rod with barely any width left. Either way it hangs from the rod; it is not a free-standing rack.
